After the artist returned to her lower Manhattan studio on Septenber 29, 200l, she was able to see, smell, and experience the after-effects of this tragedy from her high-rise studio view of the disaster site, which was less than a mile away from her space. Colors, forms, and buried artifacts express her experiences in the six canvasses created at this time.
